The past couple of months before lockdown, I found myself taking candid photos of elderly couples. Nothing is more heart warming and heart filling to me when I see it.
I feel the reason being is to put myself in perspective about what this is really all about, about my own personal end goal that I’m trying to attain (god willing, inshallah) in this lifetime of mine.
Like i always said, I dont think love is enough nor it should be. You cannot love or be in love all the time. I dont care if you’ve been together 50 years, it’s just not possible.
We are human & we are imperfect.
However, I feel there are things just as essential if not more essential than love such as commitment, faith, patience, candor, humor, humility, & courage that stand through the test of time better.
They say you have not lived if you have not sincerely loved.
I’ll end this with one of my favorite quotes.
It’s by Maria Rilke and it goes:
"For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of our tasks; the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation."
It's so fascinating what love can do to a person. However, most of the time, people take it for granted especially those who can receive it easily not knowing that there are people out there who yearns for love yet cannot receive the love he/she yearns.
